Job DescriptionBlast Technician / Material Handler (Manufacturing) - 2nd Shift to join our federal team at our York, PA (Grantly Plant) location. Responsible for maintaining a safe clean, and organized 6S environment. Understanding the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation. Responsible for operating various powered equipment. Responsible for maintaining forklift certification. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.Pay: $31.79 /per hour (Includes at $2.00/hour shift differential)Bonus Eligible: YesShift (if applicable): 2nd ShiftBenefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employmentJohnson Controls Navy Systems – Promotional VideoAs a Material Stager, you will:Working from complex mechanical drawingsPreparing parts and other products from prints, standard work, and routersWorking with cross-functional teamsWorkmanshipDocument quality-controlled tasksProper handling of finished productProper preparation of a machined surface finish and M number before blastMaintaining shot blast centersBlastProper PPE required to operate the blast centersMaintaining PPE equipment, cleaning and sanitizing following useMaintaining blast centersCheck levels of the blast filtration systemProtection of any openings, threaded holes, heat/slab numbers and machined surfacesProper placement of material in work centersMaterial HandlingMaking sure Work In Process (WIP) material is staged at the proper stationsTransporting inbound/outbound work center materialOperating forkliftsTransporting product on the Rico – Training requiredProper rigging of various products – Overhead crane/jib crane – Training requiredStage blasted parts on shadowed carts/skidsOther tasksDumping of metal hoppersWeighing refrigerant tanksMoving fixturing and other non-inventory itemsRequired Qualifications:1-5 years of related experience in manufacturingBlast experienceMaterial handlingShipping/Receiving1-5 years of experience in forklift drivingTechnical knowledgeCommunication skillsTime management skillsPreferred Qualifications:Certified forklift, pendent control overhead crane operator.Accuracy in identifying, counting, maintaining records.Read, write, add, subtract decimals, fractions, simple use of prints, move tickets, bills of materials, requisitions, CRT transactions.Who We AreThe primary mission of Johnson Controls Navy Systems is to supply Chilled Water Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Systems and associated equipment to the US Navy and US Coast Guard.
