Controller
Our client is an established provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism serving families in the DC Metro area.The Controller will lead accounting and financial reporting, partner with executive leadership, and manage key external service providers across accounting, revenue cycle, and payroll.This is a senior foundational role responsible for owning and optimizing the company’s accounting function and supporting financial decision-making in a growing healthcare services environment.Responsibilities:Own month-end close cycle, including oversight of outsourced accounting and validation of financialsManage accounts receivable and revenue cycle finance (aging, collections validation, adjustments, denials reconciliation)Oversee treasury and banking (cash forecasting, banking relationships, covenant compliance)Supervise accounts payable workflows and vendor managementPartner on payroll accounting and reconciliationMaintain internal controls and financial processesPrepare financial reporting, including P&L reviews, variance analysis, and board materialsManage external partners (accounting, tax, revenue cycle, audit, lenders)Qualifications:Active CPA license8+ years of progressive accounting experience3+ years as Controller or Assistant ControllerHealthcare, behavioral health, or multi-site services experienceExperience managing month-end close in-houseExperience overseeing outsourced accounting providersStrong accounts receivable / revenue cycle experience in payor-billed environmentsERP experience (Sage Intacct preferred; NetSuite, Workday, or Microsoft Dynamics acceptable)Multi-entity, multi-state accounting experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience in ABA, autism services, or pediatric behavioral healthBackground in private equity-backed companiesFamiliarity with healthcare EHR systemsPresence in the DC/Maryland area
