The instructor will teach psychology courses; provide high quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations; perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College; the Instructor will also demonstrate a commitment to the Learning College concept, assessment, cooperative learning, and student advising.ResponsibilitiesDevelop course outlines and teaching materials based on the state curriculum standards and make changes to the curriculum as neededFacilitate the delivery of psychology coursesDeliver a teaching load that may include a combination of traditional, internet, hybrid, and Career and College Promise classes as well as corresponding labs as needed for the academic yearUtilize active learning methods, technology, and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the courseDemonstrate a commitment to the Learning College initiativePost and maintain office hours for student appointmentsBe supportive of students' learning goalsBe prompt and accurate in the recording and reporting of student dataMaintain prompt communication with supervisorServe as an academic advisor and assist in the registration processParticipate in College committees and/or other college-wide activities as elected or assignedServe as an ambassador in the community for Isothermal Community CollegeContribute to the division assessment by recording and reporting on work projects and provide rationale and feedback for operations in placePerform expectations of a faculty member as stated in the Full-Time Faculty Job DescriptionOther duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesUnderstanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community CollegeAbility to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levelsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and must be highly organizedAbility to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective actionAbility to work effectively under pressure and with a minimum of supervisionMinimum Qualifications* Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in teaching discipline from an accredited institution, requiredPreferred QualificationsCommunity College teaching experience, preferredExperience teaching online, preferredExperience with academic advising, preferredDevelopment Education Teaching Experience, preferredPosting Detail InformationOpen Date 03/16/2026 Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Additional InformationIsothermal Community College provides educational and employment opportunities without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, veteran status, or disability.
