Founding Engineer

About ButterbaseButterbase (butterbase.ai) is an AI-native full-stack app platform: Postgres database, serverless functions, auth, storage, an AI gateway, and one-click deploys — built so both humans and AI agents can ship production apps fast. We're a small founding team with live product, real users, and a growing recipes ecosystem.The RoleYou'd be our founding engineer — the first engineering hire, working directly with the founders. You'll own core platform work end-to-end: design it, build it, ship it, operate it.What you'll doShip core platform features across the stack (TypeScript, Node, Postgres). Build and harden the AI gateway and agent-facing APIs (LLM integrations, MCP). Own reliability, performance, and developer experience of the platform. Talk to users, turn feedback into product, and help set the engineering culture.What we're looking for3+ years building production full-stack systems (TypeScript/Node + Postgres or similar). You've shipped real products end-to-end and are comfortable owning ambiguity. Hands-on experience with LLM APIs or agent tooling is a strong plus. US-based, startup speed, extreme ownership.What you get$100K-$150K base + meaningful founding equity. Remote (US), founder-level ownership from day one.
