High School diploma or equivalent andb. ONE of the following:i. Associate's degree from an accredited institution ORii. Sixty (60) credits minimum from an accredited institution ORiii. Passing score (464) on the Praxis Paraprofessional test3. ESOL Assistants must possess bilingual skills in the language of concentration. ESOL Assistants are not required to be Highly Qualified unless they are assigned to a Title 1 school. Their primary function is to be able to facilitate communication between teacher, student and home. They do not plan for instruction but support the students based on assignments from the teacher.
