We invite you to apply to join our team of employees who are dedicated to excellence that meet the needs of the warfighters and our customers around the world, day in and day out.Impact of the RoleGeneral ProfileRequires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experienceCompletes a variety of atypical assignmentsWorks within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignmentsWorks with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignmentsActs as an informal resource for colleagues with less experiencePerforms manual tasks according to established proceduresEssential FunctionsOperates a large or heavy truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule.Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations.Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.Required Qualifications* Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience* Other: CDL-A with hazmat endorsement requiredPreferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Associate's DegreeDiscipline/Major: Technical training preferredKnowledge, skills & abilities: Shipping Documentation. DOT Regulations. Loads/Secures /Unloads Cargo. Maintain Travel Logs. Transport Cargo. Vehicle Safety Checks.
