PROJECT MANAGER I
The Project Manager I is responsible for planning and managing a single large project or multiple lower-level projects throughout the organization while ensuring the projects are delivered within scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards that meet the customer’s expectation. Utilizes project management tools and processes to strategically support organizational growth and development.Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for building and maintaining business relationships, which includes working with all levels and organizations of the company to maintain and provide status of key projects.Develop and implement plans to document project scope, schedule, tasks, risk management, and reports to communicate progress to the team.Utilize visual processes and tools to track projects progress, challenges, and timing.Identify and coordinate resource needs cross-functionally throughout the organization. Work cross-functionally with others with others and assist to lead meetings to determine objectives, track progress, troubleshoot challenges, and execute deliverables assigned to project. Identify and analyze risks and inefficiencies and actively seek out opportunities to troubleshoot and resolve. Communicate plan to management.Ability to quickly understand technical aspects of operations, both from a functionality perspective as well as operations perspective and be able to articulate these to a less technical audience.Ability to review and interpret commercial terms and conditions and technical specifications of each project. Maintain routine direct contact with the customer throughout the contractual agreement until the order has been successfully completed. This includes tasks associated with accounts receivable ensuring timely payments are received, warranty claims, timely updates to the customer about their project, change order management, and schedule communication. Responsible for estimating tasks involving change order costing, make/buy analysis, and comparison of alternative design and manufacturing decisions. Develop support solutions through partnership with a Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager that address any project concerns while meeting the customers’ needs and aligning with the expectations of the industry associated with the work. Leverages knowledge of Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager in regards to Project Management methodology, skills, and tools.Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.Cross train and flex to estimating responsibilities as required by product line needs.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.Travel to customer locations including international travel could be up to 25% as required by the project.Must have a valid driver’s licenseRegular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)Excellent communication skills both orally and written.Experience with technologies and best practices across multiple platforms.Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively, in a constantly changing environment.Ability to take initiative to develop new strategies and outside-the-box ideas.Ability to work independently or in a team.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at all levels.Ability to efficiently utilize Microsoft Office and a scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.Self-starter and goal oriented who will aggressively pursue order management issues for successful resolution in a timely manner.Strong interpersonal skills with a mechanical aptitude that allows for effective communication of the product to our customers.Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in parallel in a time sensitive environment.Education And ExperienceA BS Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred.
