Journeyman or Master Electrician

**Purpose**Under the direction of the E&I Supervisor the Electrician troubleshoots, repairs and maintains electrical equipment throughout the Facility. Plans, installs and inspects wiring for industrial electrical apparatus, fixtures, generation and control equipment.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical equipment throughout the Facility. Includes: power generation system and protective relays, soft starts motor control centers, AC/DC drives/motors, ground fault, overload protect, I/O controllers. Complete routine and non-routine electrical maintenance programs. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning Facility and electrical, electronic, and control systems. This includes Modicon PLC's, engine generator controls, HVAC and fire alarm systems, AC/DC drives, motor control centers, operator interface systems and instrument loops. Follow all safety procedures, including proper lockout and tagout procedures, etc. Maintain records, including schematics and one-line diagrams. Maintain, install, inspect and repair electrical components on 4160-volt switchgear and generations systems. Update and maintain Facility electrical documentation, including P&IDs, schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, PLC configurations, and other Facility electrical data. Work with MIS/IT to troubleshoot PLC issues in Facility. Uses all types of testing equipment necessary to perform duties of an industrial journeyman electrician. Includes operating and programming PC's and PLC equipment to troubleshoot problems and improve Facility performance. Work closely with Operations/Maintenance personnel in operating and maintaining continuity of Facility operations. Repair and maintain HVAC and fire alarm systems. Be "on call" as designated by CVWRF policy and assigned by department supervisor. Promote and implement Arbinger principles. Other duties as assigned by the E&I Supervisor.**Minimum Education, Certifications, Experience, and Skills to Qualify for this Position** High school diploma or equivalent GED Must have Journeyman's or Master's Electrical license recognized by the state of Utah. Must pass Operator I certification test within four years or eight testing cycles of start date. Must have four years of industrial experience in facility electrical systems, including 480- and 4160-volt switchgear, motor control centers, motors, and generators. Must be familiar with low voltage AC/DC systems and variable frequency drives. Must have experience in process control instrumentation. State certification/license requirements must be maintained to continue employment with CVWRF.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills -- Ability to type and use personal computer software inclu ing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create spreadsheets, reports, correspondence, and presentations. Ability to learn and use new software applications. Ability to use the Internet to acquire information and use Internet-based software systems.
