The company is committed to excellence in project execution, collaboration, and client satisfaction through effective project management and engineering expertise.About the RoleThe Project Engineer supports the project management team and field operations throughout the construction lifecycle. This role is responsible for coordinating project documentation, managing submittals and change orders, monitoring project progress, supporting scheduling and cost management activities, and ensuring efficient communication between project stakeholders.Location: Indianapolis, Indiana, United States (Onsite)Key ResponsibilitiesProject CoordinationSupport Project Managers and field teams throughout all phases of construction projects.Coordinate project activities to ensure timely and efficient execution.Assist in developing and maintaining project procedures and documentation.Monitor project progress and communicate updates to management.Support successful project delivery by coordinating with internal teams and external partners.Engineering & Technical SupportReview construction design documents, drawings, and project specifications.Provide technical support to construction personnel under the guidance of the Project Manager.Evaluate contractor bids and assist during the bidding process.Review engineering documentation for accuracy and compliance.Assist with resolving technical issues throughout project execution.Document ControlManage shop drawings, submittals, and project documentation.Establish and maintain document control procedures.Review and distribute project submittals to appropriate stakeholders.Maintain accurate project records and documentation.Ensure document revisions are properly tracked and communicated.Scheduling & Cost ManagementAssist with project scheduling and workflow coordination.Monitor subcontractor and supplier schedules to support project milestones.Support estimating, budgeting, and cost tracking activities.Manage requisition processes and assist with payment application reviews.Contribute to efficient resource planning and project execution.Change ManagementPrepare and coordinate change orders, estimates, and project proposals.Monitor project modifications and maintain supporting documentation.Assist in evaluating project impacts related to scope changes.Coordinate approvals for change-related documentation.Support project teams in implementing approved changes.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams.Communicate project updates and technical information effectively.Support coordination between multiple project stakeholders.Participate in project meetings and planning activities.Perform additional project-related responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsRequiredExperience in Construction Project Engineering or a related field.Strong understanding of construction engineering and project management principles.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of project scheduling, estimating, and cost management.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.PreferredExperience with Prolog or similar project management software.Knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and document control processes.Experience supporting commercial construction projects.Familiarity with subcontractor coordination and field operations.Strong planning and budgeting skills.BenefitsHealth insurance.401(k) retirement plan.Paid time off.Full-time employment.Opportunity to work on diverse commercial construction projects.Ideal CandidateThis opportunity is ideal for professionals who:Thrive in collaborative construction environments.Have strong technical and organizational skills.Enjoy coordinating multiple aspects of complex construction projects.Communicate effectively with field teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.Are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to project success.Want to build a long-term career in construction project management.Equal Opportunity EmployerDavis & Associates, Inc. is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity, integrity, collaboration, and professional excellence.
