Job Title: Graph Data EngineerLocation: Seattle, WA, USAPosition Type: Full-timeJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Graph Data Engineer to join our data engineering team in Seattle. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern graph database technologies and a strong background in designing and optimizing data models, building ETL pipelines in Azure, and utilizing advanced graph analytics. This role will be instrumental in translating business needs into robust graph solutions, ensuring data quality, performance, and security.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain graph database solutions using technologies such as Azure Cosmos DB Gremlin, Neo4j, TigerGraph, or Amazon Neptune.Model complex relationships in data via property graphs or semantic triple stores (RDF).Write, optimize, and maintain advanced queries in Gremlin, Cypher, or SPARQL for data analysis and reporting needs.Develop scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, and related Azure services.Integrate serverless and automated workflows using Azure Functions and securely manage access with Azure Key Vault.Write clean, efficient, and robust code in Python, Java, or .NET to support database integration and analytics.Apply and implement graph algorithms such as PageRank, centrality, and community detection for real-world business use cases (e.g., network analysis, fraud detection, recommendations).Ensure data quality, security, and performance of graph data solutions in production environments.Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver graph-based insights and innovation.Document technical decisions, architectures, and best practices for future scalability and maintainability. Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Hands-on experience with at least one graph database technology (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB Gremlin, Neo4j, TigerGraph, Amazon Neptune).Strong understanding of graph query languages: Gremlin, Cypher, or SPARQL.Proven experience with data modeling (property graphs or semantic triple stores/RDF).Proficiency using Azure services, including Data Factory, Blob Storage, Functions, and Key Vault.Programming skills in Python, Java, or .NET.Experience implementing and tuning graph algorithms (PageRank, centrality, community detection).Solid understanding of data privacy, security, and cloud best practices.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred QualificationsExperience designing and deploying data pipelines in large-scale, high-availability environments.Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Git, Docker, Kubernetes).Exposure to data visualization frameworks (e.g., Neo4j Bloom, D3.js).Experience integrating graph databases with microservices architectures.
