Join us and do things you never dreamed possible.To Apply for this position, click on the "Apply" button above and complete the application.The successful Equipment Operator/Stevedore candidate will safely perform the basic tasks required to load, unload, and move breakbulk/bulk products, including aggregates, breakbulk (lumber, plywood, paper, etc.), and containers at our Marine Terminal located in Fernandina Beach, Florida.These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with us!We provide Uniforms & PPE (laundering included)(7) Paid Holidays Excellent benefits including medical, dental, and 401(k) with matchHere Is What You Will Be DoingFollow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero tolerance safety objectivesLoad and unload cargo from ships at port, coordinating the movement of cargo to and from vessels, ensuring cargo is securely fastened and stowed, planning and coordinating the placement of cargo on ships, assist in maintaining vessel gearOperate/maintain heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, reach stackers, forklift jockey trucks, mobile harbor crane and gantry craneComplete and maintain required daily paperworkHousekeeping duties, sweeping, washing down of work areas, and keeping restrooms, break rooms, and work rooms clean and tidyOccasionally work in areas outside of your normal duties, when instructed by supervisorRequirements Of a Successful Equipment Operator/Stevedore1 year of stevedoring/dock experience, 1 year of marine, plant, or industrial equipment experienceMust have the ability to obtain a TWIC card, must have a Valid Driver’s LicenseBe able to read, write, and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructionsPhysically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights Must be able to work a rotating (days/nights)12-hour shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessaryHigh School diploma or GEDEquipment certifications are a plusHere are some of the physical requirements for this roleAbility to work outdoors and, as a result, are exposed to the elementsAbility to lift 50+ poundsAbility to Stand/Walk for long periods of time.Have dexterity, good eyesight, agility, and balanceAdditional InformationA complete job description is available upon requestSavage is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplaceCalifornia Residents Job Application Privacy Notice You may view available jobs at www.savageco.com/careers and apply using the online job posting.Eligible full-time team members may participate in the company benefit package, which currently includes medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life, AD&D and disability insurance; supplemental life and disability options; health savings and flex spending accounts; profit sharing; PTO and a 401(k) plan with match.
