UX Design InternSports Excitement LLCProject: Sports technology productLocation: Fully remote, U.S.-based onlySchedule: 20 hours per weekDuration: 3 months, with possibility of extensionCompensation: Unpaid internship, school credit eligibleVisa Sponsorship: May be available in certain instancesAbout the RoleSports Excitement LLC is seeking UX Design Interns to support design work for an active sports technology product currently moving toward MVP launch.This internship is designed for UX designers who want practical, hands-on product design experience within a structured startup environment. This may include college or university-level UX learners, recent graduates, early-career designers, or experienced designers looking to continue building product experience while between roles.This is not a passive shadowing role. Interns will contribute to real design work, participate in team discussions, receive critique, give feedback to other designers, and help move product work forward. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, comfortable working in Figma, and interested in building stronger real-world UX generalist skills.What You’ll DoAs a UX Design Intern, you may contribute to:Creating wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs in FigmaDesigning for a mobile-first product experience, with related work across app and web platformsSupporting updates to existing designs, new product concepts, and design system-based UI workParticipating in regular online team meetings, design reviews, and group feedback sessionsPresenting design work and discussing design decisions with the UX teamProviding thoughtful feedback on other designers’ work during critique sessionsCollaborating with UX designers, UX researchers, data analysts, product team members, and developersApplying research findings, user needs, and product goals to design decisionsSupporting basic UX research activities when neededCreating clear design documentation, annotations, and development handoff notesIterating on designs based on feedback from UX leadership, teammates, and stakeholdersStrengthening skills across multiple areas of UX, including interaction design, UI design, research-informed design, prototyping, design systems, and product thinkingRequired QualificationsStrong working knowledge of FigmaExperience working on at least one UX, UI, product design, app design, web design, or related design projectBasic understanding of UX design principles and user-centered designBasic UX research knowledgeFamiliarity with design systems and reusable componentsAbility to design for mobile apps and web platformsUnderstanding of prototyping and interaction design basicsAttention to visual detail, including layout, typography, spacing, hierarchy, and consistencyAbility to collaborate with other designers and participate in group feedback sessionsComfort receiving critique and revising work based on feedbackClear and professional communication in a remote team environmentAvailability for regular online team meetings across U.S. time zones, Pacific through EasternWillingness to participate in online meetings with camera on when neededPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of auto-layout in FigmaExperience with pixel-perfect prototyping or polished UI executionBasic understanding of accessibility standardsExperience with Scrum or Agile workflowsCuriosity about AI-supported UX workflows, including ideation, research synthesis, prototyping, or design explorationInterest in sports technology, youth sports, athlete experiences, team-based products, or community-centered digital productsPrevious experience collaborating with cross-functional teamsPortfolio, case study, class project, Figma prototype, or design samplesPortfolioA portfolio is optional, but highly recommended.Applicants may submit a portfolio website, Figma prototype, PDF, case study, class project, or selected design samples. Strong submissions should show design thinking, visual design ability, process, and comfort working through UX problems.Internship DetailsThis is a fully remote, unpaid internship requiring approximately 20 hours per week for 3 months. School credit may be available depending on the applicant’s academic program. Visa sponsorship may be available in certain instances.Interns must be based in the United States and available for regular online meetings across U.S. time zones.
