CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team in Albany, NY, where you will play a key role in month-end close activities, financial analysis, and cash reporting. This position offers the opportunity to refine your technical skillset, collaborate across teams, and grow within a dynamic, fast-paced organization. What You'll Do:Perform detailed cost and financial analysis to support accurate reporting and decision-makingPrepare standard monthly journal entries and assist with the month-end closing processReconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial dataMaintain fixed asset schedules, including depreciation tracking and related entriesSupport daily cash reporting and assist with treasury management activitiesProvide backup support for cash control and accounts payable functionsReview financial documentation for accurate general ledger coding and alignment with budget requirements What You Bring:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline required; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience requiredFamiliarity with GAAP and foundational accounting principlesExperience in a consulting or engineering environment preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office software required; experience with Deltek preferredStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountabilityAbility to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaborativelyProfessional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality Why You'll Love It Here:Build a strong accounting foundation while contributing to essential financial operationsWork alongside an experienced Finance team committed to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvementGrow your career in a supportive environment with opportunities for professional development Salary Range: $72,000 - $80,000 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
