Interim Senior Accounting Manager (Potential for contract-to-hire) Hybrid | Pennsauken, NJ (3–4 days onsite)We’re partnering with a growing organization undergoing a major ERP transformation and looking to bring on an Interim Senior Accounting Manager to support the team during a critical transition period.This role will work closely with leadership to stabilize and optimize accounting operations while helping navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment.What You’ll Be Doing:Support the Controller by owning key day-to-day accounting operationsLead and mentor a team of 4+ focused on GL activitiesDrive month-end close (targeting a 10-day close or better)Assist with consolidations across 30+ entitiesPartner on process improvements and help bring structure post-ERP implementation (SAP)Act as a hands-on leader—balancing execution, delegation, and team developmentWhat We’re Looking For:5+ years of accounting experience, with 3+ years in a management roleStrong knowledge of GAAP and accounting data flowExperience with mid-to-large ERP systemsProven ability to lead GL teamsExperience managing a fast close and working through consolidationsBackground across both smaller and larger organizations (ranging from $10M to $1B+)Leadership Style Matters Here:High-energy, proactive, and solutions-orientedComfortable in a fast-moving, evolving environmentStrong in change management—able to build structure while navigating ambiguityHands-on, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountableNice to Have:CPA or public accounting backgroundExperience in construction, manufacturing, or distributionExposure to both QuickBooks and SAP environmentsThis is an opportunity to step into a high-impact role where you can truly influence process, team performance, and overall stability during a key transformation period.BrainWorks is a premier executive search firm that delivers superior talent to drive business performance.
