Candidates must meet the criteria to obtain one.Job Title : Senior or Principal Systems Engineer (II/III)Work Schedule : M-F, 8AM-5PM, FlexibleJob Classification : ExemptPrimary Location : California, MDSalary Range : $115,000 to $300,000 depending on experience and skillsetThe Ideal Candidate possesses many of these:Strong computer hardware and software troubleshooting experience using the Linux command lineExperience building operational Linux computer systems in a secured defense environmentThe ability to reverse engineer complex systems to aid in testing and diagnosticsFamiliarity with both DoD and DCSA cybersecurity practicesGeneral understanding of DoD sensor systems including EO/IR and RADARFamiliarity with the mission system on one or more DoD platformsExperience with cloud platforms, including DoD IL5 environments and higherOutstanding organizational skills in a complex and dynamic environmentHighly articulate communications skills when describing complex software behavior and functionThe ability to coach junior team membersStrong understanding of computing first principlesDemonstrated ability to break apart large and complex problems into smaller parts and delegatePositive and professional attitude when working to solve customer problemsDuties will include:Support in government labs and aircraft platforms to identify problems, provide solutions and communicate with the software development teamPerforming independent investigation to reproduce problems reported in fielded systemsParticipating in design reviews and providing input on requirements derivationWorking directly with government personnel and other partners to provide actionable solutionsWorking with various industry partner teams to troubleshoot, investigate, and isolate complex problemsWorking to continually validate and identify gaps in testing methodologyConfiguring test bench systems to test software requirementsProviding validation of the findings of root cause analysis and offering solutionsLeading, training, and refining software test eventsPreparing field test reports and reviewing and summarizing findingsProviding technical guidance to peersConsiderations and Experience include:Previous Minotaur experience strongly desiredSoftware development experience in a Linux environmentFamiliarity with software configuration management tools such as Git or even IBM Rational ClearcaseDemonstrated strong software troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of DoD mission systems, sensors, and networksBachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or technical fieldAbility to assess and troubleshoot complex problems involving multiple systemsUS Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance is requiredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift and carry ~40 LbsMust be able to maneuver in confined spacesMust be able to access various government location, facilities, and vesselsMust have reliable transportation to travel between office and government facilitiesS3I Engineering, LLC is a small business supporting the US Navy.
