Teachers will be expected to implement innovative and diverse instructional techniques that will lead to improved student achievement. Under the general supervision of the Program Administrator, to facilitate student success and growth focusing on core content skills.Dates: July 6, 2026 August 14, 2026 (Monday Friday). Staff - two additional days for planning and closure of programHours: 8:30 AM 12:30 PM for staff; 9:00 AM 12:00 PM for studentsSalary: Per negotiated agreementEssential FunctionsAdministers specially designed instruction consistent with students' goals and objectivesProgress monitors students' goals as per their IEPPromotes a classroom environment that is culturally diverse, safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learningDevelops lesson plans and instructional materials according to NYS StandardsInstructs students in the principles of the "Spartan Way" and other subject mattersOrganizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping for, progress monitoring and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable lawsEncourages parent(s)/guardian(s) involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and familiesEnsures that student understand the Student Conduct and Character policy, school's standards and district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior in the classroomCoordinates with other professional staff members, and participates in faculty meetingsSelects and requests appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory recordsAdditional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
