Director of Learning and Development
Columbus Property Management, a Member of Mission First Housing Group, is seeking a Director of Learning and Development to build and lead a cohesive learning ecosystem that strengthens property management operations and leadership effectiveness across our portfolio.This hands-on, strategic role translates operational strategy, compliance requirements, and performance expectations into practical, scalable learning programs. The goal: accelerate readiness, reduce operational risk, and equip teams with the skills and tools to operate with consistency and confidence.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deliver role-based learning programs for site staff, regional leaders, and support teams, including onboarding, refresher, and advanced skill development across multiple delivery formats (classroom, virtual, on-demand, coaching).Translate operational processes, policies, and leadership expectations into structured curricula, learning pathways, job aids, and playbooks that reinforce consistency and best practices.Own the learning strategy, standards, and governance, ensuring alignment with operational priorities, regulatory requirements, and company culture while maintaining quality and measurable outcomes.Build and manage learning infrastructure and programs end-to-end, including platforms, content standards, assessments, reporting, timelines, logistics, vendor coordination, and quality assurance.Partner with department leaders, Compliance, Operations, and SMEs to identify capability gaps, conduct learning and performance needs analyses, and address root causes through targeted solutions.Scale learning delivery by identifying and certifying internal trainers and designing train-the-trainer programs.Measure learning effectiveness and adoption, using defined metrics to assess knowledge transfer, behavior change, and operational impact while driving continuous improvement.Enable change and knowledge management by embedding training into operational rollouts, maintaining a single source of learning truth, and reinforcing adoption through coaching and leader partnership.Qualifications10+ years of experience in corporate learning and development or progressive training roles, with relevance to property management or operational environments.5+ years designing, developing, and delivering instructor-led and eLearning programs.Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).Demonstrated curriculum design expertise.Training and/or facilitation certification required.Strong project and change management skills with the ability to influence without formal authority.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using learning technologies and platforms.Why Join Columbus Property Management?You’ll play a critical role in shaping how our teams operate, lead, and grow; directly impacting performance, compliance, and resident experience across our communities.Company BenefitsHealth Insurance (Medical, Dental, and Vision)403(b) Retirement PlansLife Insurance (Company Provided and Voluntary)Health Savings Account (HSA)Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Commuter Accounts (Transit and Parking)Tuition ReimbursementPaid Time OffApply today and help build learning systems that drive real operational results!Compensation: $103,000 - $133,900 annuallyThis range reflects the expected compensation for this role; individual offers may vary based on experience and qualifications.Columbus Property Management is a nonprofit organization providing high-quality, sustainable housing solutions across the Mid-Atlantic region.
