NETA Technician

The NETA Field Test Technician will inspect, test, collect data and maintain electrical equipment at client sites. The equipment includes switchboards, panelboards, transformers, cabling etc. Technicians will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and other protective devices. Responsibilities Low, Medium, and High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing Testing of medium-voltage cables – Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot. Power transformer testing – Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc. Test both electro-mechanical, microprocessor and solid-state relays Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment function. Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components. Qualifications Required: Previous level II, III or IV NETA Certification High School Diploma or GED Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Complete a satisfactory criminal background check. Able to work overtime and travel out of town as needed. Able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures. Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and able to lift 70 lbs. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Minimum 3 years’ experience in NETA Testing. General PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft programs. Experience with the following test equipment: Power Factor Ductor Megger CT ratio & saturation Hi-Pot and winding resistance Experience Testing the following apparatus: Circuit Breakers Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, High Voltage | LV/MV/HV Transformers Switchgear Motors PT's & CCVT's Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday Experience: Testing NETA Standards: 3 years (Required) License/Certification: NETA Certification (Required) Work Location: On the road
