Worth, TX areaThis position will be based in the North Texas area and will provide support to all aggregate plants. The primary function of the senior electrician is to maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research, and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum production efficiency. This position services various plants within the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX and surrounding areas. Local travel required.Essential job responsibilities:Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for rail operationsTroubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drivesActively research potential upgrades and fine-tune existing operations to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reportingWork closely with engineering group and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projectsSupport corporate safety culture and perform duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulationsLead by example on all MMM safety rules/procedures and MSHA compliance standards and ensure that all employees are following established safety policies and proceduresEncourage employees to participate in guardian angel activitiesPreferred education and experience:3 years' experience in aggregates or similar industry desired3 years experience with production conveyor belt scales, operation, calibration, trouble shooting and repair desiredMust have and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving historyState of Texas license either maintenance or journeyman electrician a plusKnowledge, skills and abilities:Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)Outstanding vendor relations skills (internal and external contractors)Must be willing to be on callWorking knowledge of high voltage electrical systems requiredSkilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments and electrical construction toolsExperience with PLC'sSelf starter and self motivatedWork with a teamPhysical requirements:Work requires the ability to lift a maximum of 100 lbsMust be able to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objectsWork requires the ability to perform sustained overhead reachingWork requires the ability to use vibration toolsWork requires the ability to perform work while lying on back for prolonged periods of time and in some cases cramped quartersWork requires the ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levelsWork is performed 90% outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather and 10% indoorsAble to reason through difficult operations problems, resolve said problems and/or relate same to othersWorking conditions:All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty.
