This role serves as a key member of the finance team, helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting strategic decision-making across a diversified group of construction and related businesses.The position works closely with leadership to improve financial processes, strengthen controls, provide operational insights, and support the company's continued growth.Job Duties / Essential FunctionsFinancial Reporting & Accounting OperationsAssist in overseeing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash managementSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesPrepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and management reportsMaintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policiesEnsure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reportingInternal Controls & ComplianceAssist in developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls and financial proceduresSupport compliance with financial, tax, insurance, and regulatory requirementsCoordinate external audits and provide audit support documentationMaintain accounting policies and process documentationIdentify opportunities to strengthen financial controls and reduce organizational riskBudgeting & Financial PlanningSupport annual budgeting and forecasting activitiesMonitor financial performance and analyze budget-to-actual resultsAssist with cash flow forecasting and financial planning initiativesProvide financial analysis and performance reporting to leadershipStrategic Financial SupportPartner with the Controller and executive leadership on special projects and strategic initiativesAssist with financial modeling, operational analysis, and business planningProvide timely financial information to support decision-makingServe as the Controller's backup and delegate when neededPreferred Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA designation strongly preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsExperience with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and month-end close processesExperience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and advanced Microsoft ExcelConstruction, logistics, or project-based industry experience preferredWhat We're Looking ForStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent organizational and time-management skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesLeadership mindset with the ability to develop and mentor team membersHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentialityContinuous improvement mentality and willingness to drive positive changeIf you are an experienced Accountant with a proven track record of success in financial reporting we would love to hear from you.
