Commercial Driver's License Driver

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks and trailers to deliver freight efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in commercial driving, route management, and vehicle operation will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling and securement of goods. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during route driving and delivery operations. Manage delivery schedules efficiently by planning routes that optimize time and fuel consumption while meeting delivery deadlines. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and resolve any issues that arise during transit. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery across various trailer types including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks. Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles with a strong understanding of vehicle handling and control. Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods; experience with freight handling is preferred. Knowledge of route driving strategies to maximize efficiency while ensuring safety at all times. Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading cargo. Strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety standards set by authorities such as the Department of Transportation (DOT).
