POSITION DESCRIPTION Date of issue Position Title: Electronic Tech Location: Atchison, KS Department: Maintenance Reports to: Plant Engineer ROLE PURPOSE & CONTRIBUTION Constructs, maintains, and tests electrical systems, machinery, and components. Conducts preventative maintenance and identifies parts for replacement. PRINCIPAL OUTCOMES / ACCOUNTABILITIES Safety, Sustainability & Quality Support a proactive HS&E culture by: Role modelling safe work behavior Taking reasonable care for his or her own health and safety and that of others in the workplace Complying with any reasonable instruction, policy and/or procedure Promptly reporting safety and environmental hazards and incidents Essential Duties Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, using testing devices Effectively use ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards. Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical and electronic equipment. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Work with DC to 480-volt 3 phase electrical systems and check for 13000 volts and how to disconnect safely. Carry out preventive maintenance per the schedule and work instructions provided Work from ladders, power platforms, and roof. Keep work area clean and clear after maintenance completed. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required Must have Electronic Technician certification or Vocational/Technical college relevant experience (Passing Electronics Test) Experience: 1-2 years in industrial maintenance or similar setting Three phase motors with 220v and 480v or hire voltage Experience with13000v preferred Testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using test devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system Skills and Knowledge: Able to read electrical blueprints Knowledge of building and safety codes Able to read and interpret work instructions and requirements/specifications Knowledge of machinery repairs i.e., motors, gear boxes, controls, etc. Able to occasionally lift 50 lbs. (Resistor Rack) Must be a US person in order to perform inspection to restricted documents including ITAR and Export Control data
