Compliance Specialist
The Compliance Specialist is a six-month contract role. This position supports compliance with tax abatement agreements, regulatory reporting requirements, and internal control standards across a renewable energy portfolio. The analyst ensures accurate, timely preparation and submission of required documentation while collaborating cross-functionally to maintain financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and submit compliance documentation for tax abatement agreements and EIA reporting with high accuracy and attention to detail.Coordinate with site operations, HR, and legal teams to obtain required supporting documentation.Perform operational SOX testing and assist with fixed asset and inventory assessments.Track abatement terms, deadlines, and requirements to ensure timely filings.Confirm all submissions meet applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards and deadlines.Maintain organized records of submitted documentation and correspondence.Monitor filing status and update submission logs.Serve as primary contact for routine tax authority inquiries regarding filed documents.Support audit processes by retrieving and organizing historical records.Perform additional compliance and accounting tasks as assigned.This role requires strong organizational skills, precision, and effective collaboration in a deadline-driven environment.
