This role includes designing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized EducationPrograms (IEPs) to address the developmental, academic, behavioral, and functional needs ofstudents with disabilities.The ECSE Teacher collaborates with paraprofessionals, related service providers, generaleducation staff, and families to promote inclusive and developmentally appropriate learningenvironments. All work is conducted in accordance with the Individuals with DisabilitiesEducation Act (IDEA), Colorado Exceptional Children's Educational Act (ECEA), and PPBOCESpolicies and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Instructional & Student Support• Provide specially designed instruction as outlined in students' IEPs in individual,small group, and inclusive settings.• Design and implement instructional strategies to support development inacademic, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and motor domains.• Adapt materials and curriculum to meet individual student needs anddevelopmental levels.• Supervise and guide ECSE Assistants and paraprofessionals in implementinginstructional and behavioral strategies.• Utilize progress monitoring data to inform instruction and adjust interventions asneeded.Behavioral & Emotional Support• Develop and implement behavior support plans and social-emotional learningstrategies using trauma-informed and positive behavioral approaches.• Support students in developing self-regulation and social interaction skills inalignment with developmental goals.• Collaborate with families and service providers to ensure consistency acrosssettings.Assessment, Compliance & Documentation• Conduct developmental and functional assessments to determine eligibility andto guide IEP development.• Coordinate IEP meetings and ensure compliance with IDEA and ECEA timelinesand procedural safeguards.• Maintain accurate and confidential student records, progress reports, and datafor CDE reporting.• Determine and document eligibility for Extended School Year (ESY) services asappropriate.Team Collaboration & Communication• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and familiesto ensure cohesive service delivery and transitions.• Provide consultation and training to staff and families on instructional strategiesand early childhood development.• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and district or statetrainings as required.• Serve as a liaison between PPBOCES, community agencies, and families asneeded.• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education orDesignee.Work Environment & Physical Requirements:• Work is performed primarily in preschool classrooms and other educationalenvironments.• Physical demands include frequent talking, hearing, walking, standing, bending, andoccasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.• May include assisting with student mobility, positioning, or physical care as appropriateto age and developmental level.• Requires travel to assigned sites; employee may be required to drive to any memberdistrict using a personal or BOCES vehicle (mileage reimbursed per Board policy).• Must maintain all required licenses in active status without suspension or revocation.Evaluation:Performance will be evaluated annually by the Special Education Director or Designee inalignment with the Colorado State Model System for Evaluation of Special Service Providers andPPBOCES policies.Salary, Working Time, Vacation, Etc.:This is a 179-day contract position with earned leave in accordance with Board policy. The position is based on a40-hour work week. Salary shall be determined by education and experience in accordancewith the BOCES Licensed Salary Schedule. Travel to school districts on a weekly basis isrequired.
