If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please Apply Now!Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical / SurgicalLocation: William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC), Fort Bliss, TX 79906Work Setting: Inpatient Medical / Surgical UnitsPosition SummaryThe Medical / Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and comprehensive nursing care to adult patients admitted to WBAMC inpatient units for medical management, pre-operative stabilization, and post-operative recovery. This role supports a broad patient population with varying acuity levels and requires strong clinical judgment, care coordination, and adherence to military medical treatment facility (MTF) standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct, individualized nursing care using established nursing standards and WBAMC clinical protocolsAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teamsMonitor patient conditions, vital signs, and response to treatment; identify and respond to clinical changesAdminister medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous) and document care accurately in the electronic medical recordProvide bedside care for medical and post-surgical patients across a wide range of diagnosesPerform clinical procedures including IV initiation, catheterization, wound care, and dressing changesEducate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructionsParticipate in discharge planning and continuity-of-care coordinationRespond to emergent and life-saving situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocolsMaintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality standardsWork ProfileSchedule: Inpatient rotating shifts based on ward mission; may include Panama or alternating schedules (e.g., 36/44-hour rotations) ensuring compliance with pay-period hour limitsClinical Environment: Adult medical/surgical inpatient units supporting pre-op, post-op, and medical admissionsMinimum QualificationsActive, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (U.S. state or territory)Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or Diploma)Minimum 1 year of inpatient nursing experience, preferably in Medical / Surgical settingsProficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systemPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in a military, VA, or federal medical treatment facilityExperience managing mixed-acuity medical and post-surgical patient populationsCurrent BLS certification (ACLS preferred)Tryfacta is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
