Principal Engineer, Developer Experience (DevEx)

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Engineer Developer Experience (devex) to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $246,000 – $339,000 annuallyResponsibilities Define and implement a comprehensive DevEx strategy with engineering leadership Connect efforts across Core and Cloud/Platform Developer Experience Identify and drive enhancements throughout the developer experience Standardize metrics for developer productivity and engineering insights Guide development of internal platforms and self-service tools Ensure reliability and efficiency in CI/CD workflows Lead AI adoption for development practices and workflowsQualifications 5-7 years in Developer Experience or Platform Engineering Strong background in software engineering and large-scale systems Proven ability to define technical strategies across teams Experience with internal developer platforms and self-service ecosystems Deep knowledge of developer productivity metrics like DORA Recent experience with AI in software development workflows Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levelsBenefits Performance-based bonus Equity options Generous benefits programOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
