Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapeutic services aimed at improving patients’ ability to perform daily living and work activities. The COTA implements individualized treatment plans, assists patients in achieving functional goals, and documents patient progress to support occupational therapy outcomes. Responsibilities: ⁠Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with physical, mental, developmental, or cognitive impairments. Provide direct therapeutic interventions to patients using exercises, adaptive equipment, and functional activities. Monitor and document patient progress, updating occupational therapists on changes in patient condition. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to improve independence. Prepare and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies.
