Role Description This is a part time, on-site role for a Cantor at Riverdale Temple, located in the New York City Metropolitan area. The Cantor will lead and enhance worship services through music and prayer, collaborate with clergy and staff to plan services and events, and participate in lifecycle ceremonies. Responsibilities also include leading the congregation in liturgical singing, and contributing to the development of educational programs that foster musical and spiritual growth within the community. The Cantor will play a pivotal role in nurturing the spiritual lives of congregants and ensuring the vibrancy of our community life. Qualifications Proficiency in Worship Music and Singing to engage and inspire the congregation during servicesStrong skills in Music, including ability to arrange, rehearse, and perform in a variety of musical stylesExperience in Jewish liturgy, music traditions, and spiritual practicesExceptional interpersonal and communication skills to connect with individuals of diverse backgroundsCantorial ordination is highly desirableKnowledge of Jewish liturgical traditions and a passion for enriching Jewish community life
