Our teams operate at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and data to help our clients drive smarter decisions, reduce risk, and stay ahead in a fast-evolving market environment.About the Role:We are seeking an Application DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale regulatory risk calculation and reporting platform within a global markets environment. The platform supports fixed income, currencies, commodities, and equities, providing critical end-of-day, intraday, and on-demand risk generation capabilities.The role will focus on production stability, application resiliency, capacity management, failover readiness, tooling, automation, and regulatory compliance across a complex risk calculation plant.The successful candidate will work closely with globally distributed developers, DevOps engineers, release management, infrastructure teams, and business-aligned risk stakeholders. The environment is primarily based on Quartz or a comparable enterprise trading and risk platform, with development largely in Python and selected C++ components for high-performance workloads.This is a hands-on engineering and platform ownership role for someone who can solve non-trivial application, infrastructure, and batch-processing challenges while improving operational control and reducing manual effort. Key Responsibilities:Provide DevOps expertise and technical leadership for the effective management of application infrastructure and large-scale risk calculation plants.Support end-of-day, intraday, and on-demand risk generation, with a strong focus on stability, resiliency, operational control, and service continuity.Plan, coordinate, and execute application and infrastructure failovers in line with business and technology requirements.Improve monitoring, alerting, tooling, and automation to strengthen production stability and reduce manual operational effort.Manage capacity, performance, and scalability considerations across batch-oriented and on-demand risk processing workloads.Partner with developers, release management, platform DevOps, technology infrastructure, and business-aligned risk teams on weekday and weekend activities.Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, deployment, and batch-processing issues, driving problems through root-cause analysis and resolution.Contribute to software development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement using agile delivery practices.Act as a regional point of contact and take ownership of operational outcomes as the regulatory risk capability expands globally.Required Skills and Experience:7+ years of professional experience with Python or an equivalent programming language, including the ability to build and support automation, tooling, and operational improvements.Practical experience across software development, testing, deployment, and production support within an agile engineering environment.Understanding of large-scale application plants, including capacity management, resiliency, failover, and operational stability.Experience supporting business-critical production systems, batch processing, or risk generation workloads with demanding service expectations.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure, and processing layers.Ability to break down complex problems and propose practical, controlled solutions appropriate for production environments.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technology, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong ownership mindset for production stability and operational outcomes.Experience contributing to a high-performance team delivering high-priority initiatives.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Financial Services, ideally supporting risk, trading, market risk, or regulatory reporting platforms.Knowledge of Quartz or a comparable large-scale trading and risk platform.Experience with continuous integration, deployment pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and production automation.Understanding of system design and architecture for resilient, scalable, and operationally controlled platforms.Exposure to C++ components or high-performance application environments.Front-office technology or production support experience, with an interest in expanding further into DevOps, Python engineering, and platform ownership.Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple regions and time zones.**The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000** Benefits:Choice of medical, dental, vision insurance.Voluntary benefits.Short- and long-term disability.HSA and FSAs.Matching 401k.Discretionary performance bonus.Employee referral bonus.Employee assistance program.11 public holidays.20 days PTO.7 Sick Days.PTO buy and sell program.Volunteer days.Paid parental leave.Remote/hybrid work environment support.For more information about BIP US, visit https://www.bip-group.com/en-us/.Equal Employment Opportunity:It is BIP US Consulting policy to provide equal employment opportunities to all individuals based on job-related qualifications and ability to perform a job, without regard to age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, creed, national origin, disability, genetic information, veteran status, citizenship, or marital status, and to maintain a non-discriminatory environment free from intimidation, harassment or bias based upon these grounds.BIP US provides a reasonable range of compensation for our roles.
