About Us: Drone Launch Academy is an innovative provider of drone-related education, including FAA Part 107 exam prep, commercial drone operations, and drone mapping and modeling courses. We’re seeking a curriculum development expert to turn our current Drone Mapping and Modeling Fundamentals course into a full, 18-week high school-level academic curriculum. Job Overview: We are looking for a part-time, contract Curriculum Developer with a strong background in high school curriculum design to take our existing course content and transform it into a comprehensive 18-week academic curriculum. This project requires reviewing the existing course materials, identifying where additional videos or lessons are needed, developing assignments and graded activities, creating project ideas, crafting a syllabus and scope & sequence, and developing instructor resources. All content will be delivered through our Moodle LMS, and no animation or simulation-type activities will be required. Key Responsibilities: Review our existing Drone Mapping and Modeling Fundamentals course content. Identify new lessons or videos that need to be created for the curriculum. Develop assignments, quizzes, and graded activities for student assessments. Create project-based learning activities related to drone mapping and modeling. Develop a comprehensive syllabus and scope & sequence that outlines the instructional time for each module. Write any additional educational material needed (e.g., study guides, project instructions, etc.). Develop detailed instructor resources, such as lesson plans, answer keys, grading rubrics, teaching strategies, and guides for facilitating student projects. Ensure the curriculum aligns with high school academic standards. Qualifications: Proven experience in high school-level curriculum development, preferably in technology, STEM, or Career and Technical Education (CTE) subjects. Experience creating detailed instructor resources to support educators in delivering the course. Strong understanding of project-based learning and creating engaging student activities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work. Familiarity with drone technology, mapping, and modeling concepts is a plus but not required. Experience working with Moodle LMS or similar platforms is preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to complete the project by November 30, 2024.
