Color Weigh-Up - 1st Shift
The Color Weigh-Up individual will weigh up pigments and additives for use in production.
Work Schedule:
1st shift beginning 7am to 3pm, Monday - Friday. Overtime as required.
New employees are assigned to a rotating A or B weekend schedule should there be mandatory weekend work.
Responsibilities
Measures appropriate weights of pigments for specified customer colors
Monitors inventory levels associated with pigment mixtures used to color plastics
Assist the production colorist with molding color chips and other duties
Maintains a clean working environment
Other duties as assigned

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
Excellent attention to detail required
Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production
Read and follow manuals and procedures
Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Must be dependable and have excellent attendance
Possess a positive attitude
Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekend
Willing and able to work in temperature extremes – hot and cold
Must be able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit test
Attendance is an essential function of the position
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Education and Experience
Passing score on the RTP Company Color Test
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Contacts involve giving or exchanging information of a limited controversial nature.

Communicates via phone, email, in person.
Required to sit for extended periods of time, watching security surveillance system and logging information at a computer.

Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions
Occasionally
Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine and printer.
Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible.
Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures.
May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, and chemical dust.
Exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.
Standard manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to loud (from the machines/equipment in the production area). The noise level may be above the OSHA action level. Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures.
This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc.
Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Manual Dexterity: Repeatedly required to walk, bend, reach, twist, turn and stand, climb stairs, sit in one place for extended periods of time. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear, and see.
Machines or Equipment Operated: Scales, extruders, injection molding machines, forklift, and spectrophotometer software.
