Quality Program Coordinator

Overview: The Steel Dynamics Flat Roll Group – Butler Division is an industry leading producer of flat rolled steel products. We are searching for a motived, quality-minded individual to join our team as a Quality Coordinator. This position will work with a core group of professionals throughout the mill to enhance the quality of the many products which are produced at the Butler, IN facility. The role is responsible for helping to lead the facility through the numerous requirements of the IATF 16949 standard and helping to coordinate quality initiatives throughout various departments. Responsibilities: Maintain and support Quality Programs for the Butler Flat Roll Division including IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 Prepare and monitor quality documents used for certification/surveillance audits including PFMEAs, Control Plans, etc. Create audit plans, maintain audit schedules and participate in internal, external and customer audits Document audit findings and CARs Work with department personnel to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans Assist various departments in gathering necessary information for PPAP submissions Complete special projects assigned by supervisor Qualifications: Required: Associate’s Degree or higher Previous experience working with a quality management system Prior audit experience including ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 Must be organized and be able to manage time effectively Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred: Working knowledge of flat roll steel processes Internal auditor and lead auditor trained Steel Dynamics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
