Role OverviewThe Sr Analyst, IT Business (Data‐focused Business Analysts) is a senior, hands‐on Business & Data Analyst embedded within a Data Engineering delivery team. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineers to translate complex business needs into high‐quality data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and operational decision‐making.The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with data, writing SQL queries, exploring datasets, validating outputs, and telling the story of what the data represents to both technical and non‐technical audiences. The role also operates in a product‐oriented, agile environment, owning data requirements from concept through delivery.Your Day‐to‐DayAct as the primary Business & Data Analyst / Product Owner for an agile data engineering teamPartner with business stakeholders across loyalty, commission services, franchise operations, property operations, and enterprise reference data to understand data needs and prioritiesPerform hands‐on data analysis using SQL to explore datasets, validate requirements, investigate issues, and support business decision‐makingTranslate business requirements into clear user stories, features, acceptance criteria, and supporting artifacts for data engineering teamsCollaborate with Data Architects and Engineers to develop source‐to‐target mappings, transformation logic, and technical specificationsIdentify gaps between current‐state data/processes and desired future state; recommend practical, scalable solutionsSupport testing and validation by creating test scenarios, verifying data outputs, and ensuring data quality expectations are metCommunicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non‐technical audiences, using storytelling and data‐driven narrativesProvide guidance and mentorship to other analysts as a senior individual contributorOperate effectively in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Agile environment using Jira and related toolsData & Technical EnvironmentCloud‐based data platform (Google Cloud Platform)BigQuery and large analytical datasetsData integration and transformation workflowsSource‐to‐target mapping and data lineage conceptsAgile / SAFe delivery modelWhat You'll BringEducation* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experienceExperience7+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar roleProven experience working with data engineering or analytics teams in an integrated delivery modelExperience supporting large, cross‐functional, complex initiatives in an agile environmentRequired Technical SkillsStrong SQL skills (required): ability to write queries to explore, analyze, and validate datasetsExperience working with data engineering concepts, including data integration, transformations, and data pipelines (hands‐on development not required)Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery or similar cloud data platformsExperience translating business requirements into technical specifications and data mappingsProficiency using Jira and agile delivery practicesPreferred Skills & CertificationsSAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (PO/PM) certificationSAFe Agilist certificationExperience working with enterprise or reference data, analytics, or reporting solutionsCore CompetenciesStrong communication and stakeholder‐management skills; able to adapt messaging to technical and non‐technical audiencesComfortable "getting hands on" with data and independently researching answersCurious, resourceful, and action‐oriented with the ability to work independentlyStrong analytical, conceptual, and problem‐solving abilitiesAble to see the big picture while also diving into detailsTravel - 10% limited as neededLocation - Atlanta, GA: Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.The salary range for this role is $106,000 to $120,000. This role is also eligible for bonus pay.
