Collections & Payment Posting Specialist The Collections & Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances, and accurately posting payments for ambulance services. This role plays a critical part in maintaining cash flow, reducing aging accounts, and ensuring compliance with healthcare billing regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in navigating payer systems to resolve claims efficiently and accurately.Collections (Accounts Receivable):Follow up on unpaid ambulance claims with insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and patientsReview aging reports and prioritize accounts for collection effortsResolve claim denials, rejections, and underpaymentsInitiate appeals and submit corrected claims as neededCommunicate with payers and patients to secure payment or arrange payment plansDocument all collection activities in the billing systemIdentify trends in denials or delays and escalate issues to managementPayment Posting:Accurately post payments from insurance companies, patients, and other payersReconcile electronic remittance advice (ERA) and explanation of benefits (EOB) statementsApply adjustments, contractual allowances, and write-offs appropriatelyBalance daily deposits and ensure all payments are accounted forInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or postingsMaintain accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standardsThis description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
