Job DescriptionBroadcast Production AssistantWJCL, the ABC affiliate in Savannah, Georgia has an opening for a part-time Broadcast Production Assistant. We are looking for a team player who understands the flexible schedule that the broadcast industry requires to join our production crew. You will be responsible for operating cameras, teleprompter, audio-board, graphics and video equipment related to live broadcasts and post-production. You will work with our production team to guarantee a successful broadcast is produced. You will report to the Assistant News Director.ResponsibilitiesOperate cameras and studio floor directingMove and handle props and sets during productionsConstruction, maintenance, installation and operation of props, cameras, prompters, sets and other production equipmentLighting and script preparation for newscastsMaintain appearance of studios including cleaning of set and floorsUnderstand and maintain lighting grid and control boardClimb ladders to change light bulbs and adjust fixtures on the gridEdit syndicated promos for air and web content using Adobe PremiereAssist the directorsRequirementsWorking knowledge of television newscast equipment and softwareVideography experience helpfulEditing experience is necessaryCan deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast productionRelated military experience will be consideredIn-person attendance is requiredValues in ActionAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
