Technician, Processing Facilities

Job Summary:The Technician is responsible for the handling, consolidating and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facilities. The Technician must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labor intensive and repetitious tasks.At GFL our goal is to invest in our people and provide opportunities to grow for life!Our employees are affectionately known as team green, a name that unites us all under our shared purpose of providing sustainable solutions to enable our customers and communities to be GREEN FOR LIFE!* 3 weeks PTO annually* 4 medical plan options including an HSA with employer contribution & match program, dental, and vision coverage.* 401(k) with an employer match* Paid holidays* Employee Assistance Program with free counseling services.Key Responsibilities:Ensure waste is processed in a timely and safe mannerOperate oil filter crushing machineAssist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers with lift gates and forkliftsEnsure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocolOperation of processing machinery and equipment as requiredEnsure safe operation and procedures are followed at all timesComplete paperwork properly & ensure it is submittedComplete job hazard risk assessmentsPromote a safety culture with all employeesEnsure superior customer service is providedGeneral shop clean up and maintenanceOther miscellaneous tasks as requiredRequirements:Valid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to perform moderately labor intensive and repetitious tasksPhysically fit with the ability to lift +50lbs and stand on cement for extended periods of timeExcellent communication skillsPlanning and organizational skillsAbility to analyze and solve problemsAble to work independently and in a team environmentMust be able to pass drug screening and criminal background screening#GFLTalentWe thank you for your interest.
