Job Description
Florida’s premier Elevator design, remodeling & manufacturing firm is seeking a skilled Elevator Cab Installer Apprentice to become an integral part of installations in our growing company. The Installer Apprentice will work directly under the Lead Installer to install custom millwork/metalwork in commercial elevator interiors. Must be competent using various hand tools such as angle grinders, routers, drills, spray guns etc. Must be able to handle materials weighing up to or above 100 lbs. Should be familiar with handling and fastening methods for various substrates and finished materials such as wood veneer, laminate, glass and architectural metals.ONLY professional, hard-working applicants with a minimum 2 years of relevant experience need apply; elevator, construction or millwork/cabinet industry experience a plus.Responsibilities/FunctionsAssist with & learn as apprentice the following:read and interpret drawings and scope of workloading/unloading of materials into company van; drive to & from local job sitesonsite coordination with clients and other tradestake control of elevator, work site set-updemolition and installation of commercial elevator interior systemsinstallation of decorative metal claddingelectrical work installing low-voltage interior lightingglue-down flooring installationperform surveys; measuring and sketching of elevators & componentspunch out work and job acceptanceMaintain inventory and security of company tools and materials All other duties as assigned, including running errands for the business when necessary.Education High School diploma required - trade certifications welcomeExperience Construction, fabrication, production or warehouse experience preferred Experience reading and interpreting drawings Experience and familiarity with various construction and finished materials necessarySkills Must exhibit excellent attention to detail Must be a strong multi-tasker with exceptional organization skills Must be able to read a measuring tape and have strong math & analytical skills Must have the desire to learn a new industry (if not already in the Elevator Industry) Must be able to read, write and speak English.
