Forward Deployed Engineer

Overview: We are seeking a highly technical, customer-facing Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to turn complex business problems into working, adopted software. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can embed with business stakeholders, quickly understand unfamiliar workflows and constraints, and translate those needs into production-ready applications. You will own engagements from discovery and scoping through rapid prototyping, deployment, and adoption, often moving from an initial business problem to a working prototype within days or weeks. The ideal candidate combines strong full-stack/application engineering, Palantir Foundry, AIP, and agentic AI experience with the consultative skills to work directly with customers and demonstrate measurable business value.Requirements:6+ years of hands-on software/application engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production systems.Strong customer-facing, consulting, professional services, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed engineering experience.Hands-on experience building applications with Palantir Foundry, ideally including AIP/AIP Logic, Ontology, Workshop, OSDK, Functions, and Pipeline Builder.Strong programming experience with Python, SQL and TypeScript/JavaScript.Practical experience engineering LLM/GenAI and agentic systems, beyond basic prompt engineering or use of AI coding tools.Experience with concepts such as agent orchestration, tool calling, context/state management, RAG, evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop workflows.Experience deploying and supporting applications on AWS and/or Azure and working with cloud-native infrastructure.Ability to rapidly move from business discovery → prototype → user feedback → iteration → production.Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish credibility with customers, lead discovery sessions, demo solutions, and explain technical decisions in terms of business value.Comfortable operating independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where requirements evolve through direct interaction with users.Experience building full-stack applications and modern user interfaces; React experience strongly preferred.Responsibilities:Partner directly with business stakeholders and SMEs to understand workflows, pain points, data, and operational requirements.Translate ambiguous business problems into clearly defined technical solutions and measurable success criteria.Rapidly prototype, demo, test, and iterate on applications based on real user feedback.Own solutions end-to-end, including architecture, application development, deployment, monitoring, and production adoption.Build applications using Palantir Foundry, including Ontology, AIP/AIP Logic, Workshop, OSDK, Functions, and related capabilities.Develop full-stack solutions using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern front-end technologies such as React.Design and implement LLM and agentic AI workflows, including tool use, orchestration, context management, human-in-the-loop workflows, and evaluation/guardrails.Integrate enterprise data, models, APIs, and business logic into scalable applications and AI-powered workflows.Communicate technical trade-offs, progress, dependencies, and business outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Manage scope and priorities collaboratively while maintaining a strong bias toward rapid delivery and measurable results.
