Restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function, wellness, fitness, and quality of life as it relates to movement and health. Prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries. Receive direction from the Department Director. As an employed provider, you are expected to comply with all service standards and policies and procedures. This includes all customer service standards, dress code, and physical and mental requirements outlined and approved for this position. Knowledge of how to use and maintain physical therapy equipment is essential. You should have skill in writing reports, preparing correspondence, and keeping patient care records. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public is necessary. You will need to identify and recommend problem resolution effectively. The ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data is required. You must communicate clearly. Dexterity and manual skill are required to operate the keyboard of a computer terminal and the numeric keypad of a standard desktop calculator by touch. You must have the physical ability to work on a computer terminal continuously for up to four hours. You should have the ability to operate office equipment, including fax and photocopier, to complete requests for medical information. The ability to manage a sometimes chaotic work environment related to changing patient needs is important.
