Mainframe Exstream Developer
Mainframe Exstream Developer Responsibilities Provide software development, write clean, efficient, and executable code in low-level and high-level languages. Manage application development deliverables for the entire life‐cycle of the development project, including both Waterfall and Agile models as applicable. Document and compose design: use Exstream Dialogue to design, format, and maintain document templates, ensuring data maps accurately to layouts. Mainframe integration: write and maintain JCL and COBOL programs to extract and format mainframe data (DB2, VSAM) for ingestion by the Exstream engine. Testing and debugging: perform unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT). Resolve JCL errors and document formatting bugs. Production support: monitor batch jobs, analyze spool files, and troubleshoot production issues related to document generation. Modernization and maintenance: migrate legacy document systems to Exstream and maintain compliance with regulatory communication standards. Skills Required Overall 5+ years of experience. Core mainframe: proficiency in IBM mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM. Exstream expertise: 2–5+ years of hands‐on experience with OpenText Exstream, including Exstream Engine, Design Manager, and Delivery Manager. Database and utilities: strong SQL skills, IBM utilities (SORT, IEBGENER), and Endevor or Changeman for release management. Methodologies: experience operating in Agile/Scrum or Waterfall SDLC environments using tools like Jira and Bitbucket. Knowledge of content management tools (Exstream or Messagepoint, ADA tagging), JIRA, and Confluence. Compensation & Benefits Starting pay range: $45 to $54 per hour.
