Job DescriptionPosition Purpose: The Assistant Produce Team Lead will be responsible for executing a wide variety of tasks throughout the store. Focusing on leading a successful produce team, the Asst. Produce Team Lead is a Produce Team Lead in training who strives to meet department goals and objectives while providing customers with product expertise and the freshest and best quality produce.Responsibilities: An Asst. Produce Team Lead is a responsible, friendly person who can safely work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.An Asst. Produce Team Lead's responsibilities include:In the produce manager's absence, directing produce department personnel and meeting department's goals and objectives.Communicating directly with the store team lead and produce department supervisors.Ordering produce and produce department products necessary to maintain adequate stock levels and merchandising fruits, vegetables and produce products in accordance with produce merchandising standards.Unloading trailers, receiving merchandise verifying orders, breaking down produce loads, positioning cases of product in the produce warehouse or walk-in cooler.Understanding proper product trimming, rotation, culling, crisping and watering techniques and procedures, ensuring product attractiveness and shelf life.Building attractive displays of produce, while maintaining proper product inventory levels.Understanding the importance of monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement and the proper use of product shelf tags and signage.All other related duties as assigned.Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for an extended period:Standing, Sitting, Lifting + Stocking (Up to 50 lbs.), Pushing, Keyboarding, Telephone Use, Walking, BendingPerks & BenefitsCompetitive compensation, paid weeklyRetirement BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance for yourself and eligible dependentsTuition Reimbursement for qualified coursesScholarship opportunities for continued educationStore discount programs (10% off household groceries)Fun work environment where you have the opportunity to nourish your community.Must be 18 years of age.
