Open to W2 candidates! We are seeking a Chemical Lab Technician for a key client of ours in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Once hired, and after training, you will work rotating 12-hour schedules on a weekly basis (will be reviewed during interview). For this role, you will use a variety of testing equipment including GCs, HPLC, FTIR, spectrophotometers, viscometers, ovens, balances, pH meters, using microscopy, LIMS & SAP data systems. Responsibilities: Conducting analytical testing on emulsion polymerization products and plant waste water in support of in-process and finished goods 24/7 ISO 9001 manufacturing operations. Evaluating data versus internal and external specifications Evaluating incoming raw materials Performing bacteria testing Interacting with the supply chain and operations departments at the Monaca site to expedite shipments to customers utilizing SAP Contributing and adhering to safety, environmental, quality and EEO/AA standards Other duties as assigned by the supervisor Minimum of an Associates degree in biology or chemistry, or a 2-year technical degree in analytical testing Minimum 6+ months of industrial experience in an QA/QC, or R&D or Analytical or Environmental laboratory environment Ability to operate various computer-controlled instruments, in addition to a familiarity with personal computers Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Knowledge of testing equipment found in laboratory setting (GCs, HPLC, FTIRS, Viscometers) Well-developed analytical methodology and an insight into problem solving. Knowledge of SPC Detail oriented with the ability to record (via notebook or computer) and report pertinent data Must be able to achieve a passing score on a pre-placement aptitude test On occasion, must be able to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs. Must be able to follow both written procedures and verbal instructions Must be able to follow all applicable safety procedures including correct personal protective equipment. Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and interact with management and employees within the organization Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime when required Good communication skills (oral and written) Experience working in an ISO or GMP compliance driven lab environment Experience working in a manufacturing environment on a rotating shift. Experience with emulsion polymerization products, laboratory testing and practices. Listed salary ranges may vary based on experience, qualifications, and local market.
