Role Overview:As a General Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing a range of essential surgical procedures including hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, breast surgeries, \"lumps and bumps,\" abscess drainage, endoscopies (EGD and colonoscopy), appendectomies, and small bowel and colon surgeries. The position involves call coverage only, with shifts scheduled from July 10 to July 13 and July 24 to July 27, 2026. The role emphasizes high-quality care, adherence to protocols, and strong collaboration with hospital staff to serve the community effectively. Surgeons will be on-call within a 20-minute radius of the facility, ensuring prompt response times. Required Skills: Board Certification in General SurgeryActive North Carolina Medical LicenseNC DEA Certification (with NC address)Proven experience with bread and butter surgical proceduresClean professional background; NO recent or open malpractice or disciplinary issuesAbility to obtain NC Medicaid credentialingStrong communication and teamwork skillsNice to Have Skills: Experience with endoscopy (EGD and colonoscopy)Prior hospital-based surgical experienceFamiliarity with Meditech 6.1 EMRMilitary or government service backgroundPrior work with agency credentialing programsPreferred Education and Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institutionMinimum of 3 years of post-residency surgical experiencePrior experience in hospital settings providing general surgical careDemonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentOther Requirements: Must maintain malpractice insurance (to be included in daily rate)Must be fully credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid, enrolled through PECOSWillingness to provide at least 4 hours of gratis service daily (preferably in bulk)Travel expenses capped at $500Provider must have active NC license and NC DEA licenseMust provide malpractice and disciplinary history prior to considerationOnsite, hospital-owned housing provided, equipped with Wi-Fi and cableMust have no recent, open, or ongoing malpractice casesThis is an outstanding opportunity to advance your career while enjoying excellent support and benefits.
