Personal Soccer Coach - Tri-Lakes Salary Range $20.00 - $30.00 Hourly At the YMCA, we are more than a gym. We are a community committed to helping youth grow stronger in spirit, mind, and body. The Personal Soccer Coach plays a key role in developing athletes both on and off the field through individualized coaching, skill development, confidence building, and mentorship. The Personal Soccer Coach is responsible for providing high-quality individual and small group soccer training sessions for youth athletes of varying ages and skill levels. Coaches will focus on technical development, tactical awareness, athletic performance, movement quality, and overall athlete confidence in a positive and supportive YMCA environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about youth development, soccer performance, leadership, and helping athletes reach their full potential. Lead private and semi-private soccer training sessions Develop age-appropriate technical training including: Ball control Passing and receiving Shooting and finishing Dribbling and attacking moves First touch development Teach tactical concepts including: Positioning Spatial awareness Decision making Communication Game intelligence Incorporate: Speed and agility training Change of direction mechanics Coordination and balance Functional movement training Injury prevention exercises Utilize progressive training methods appropriate for athlete age and ability Build positive relationships with athletes and families Encourage confidence, leadership, resilience, and sportsmanship Help athletes set goals and track progress Create a motivating and inclusive training environment Arrive prepared and on time for all sessions Maintain a safe and organized training space Communicate professionally with members, parents, and staff Promote YMCA programs and services when appropriate Follow all YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines Ability to demonstrate drills and movement patterns Ability to stand, move, run, and actively coach for extended periods Ability to lift and carry training equipment up to 40 lbs Relationship Building, Communication, Inclusion, Leadership, Youth Development, Safety & Risk Management Opportunity to impact youth athletes in a positive way, supportive team environment, flexible scheduling opportunities, professional development and growth opportunities, be part of a mission-driven organization focused on strengthening the community Qualifications Previous soccer playing and/or coaching experience required Knowledge of technical and tactical soccer development Experience working with youth athletes preferred Understanding of athletic performance and injury prevention preferred Strong communication and leadership skills Positive, energetic, and professional attitude CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire USSF, United Soccer Coaches, or equivalent coaching certifications Experience with strength and conditioning or sports performance training Background in youth development or education Experience coaching individual or small group sessions
