This role plays a key part in supervising staff, optimizing workflows, and maintaining high standards in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and facility management.The Assistant Warehouse Manager serves as a critical liaison between warehouse operations and cross-functional teams, including purchasing, transportation, and customer service. In the absence of the Warehouse Manager, this role assumes full responsibility for warehouse operations, staff, and overall facility performance.Compensation Range: $52,000 - $57,000 /Base SalaryCompensation within range to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge and skills, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returnsAssist in labor planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization to meet productivity and service goalsIdentify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and cost-effectivenessSupervise, coach, and motivate warehouse staff to ensure high performance and engagementSupport hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of team membersFoster a positive work environment through effective communication and leadershipEnsure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper stock rotationMonitor inventory integrity and investigate discrepanciesSupport annual physical inventory processesEnforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standardsPromote a culture of safety through training and daily practicesReport and respond to workplace incidents in a timely mannerEnsure proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of warehouse equipmentCoordinate preventive maintenance and repairs as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environmentPartner with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillmentAddress operational issues that may impact service levelsMaintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholdersMonitor key performance metrics and prepare operational reportsAssist in managing labor and operational costs in alignment with budget goalsSupport continuous improvement initiativesQualifications:3–5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations1–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety standardsProven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft OfficeSome college coursework preferred; equivalent experience consideredWe offer our employees competitive compensation, extensive paid training, comprehensive and flexible suite of benefits package, 401K with company match, team member discounts, rewards for top performers, and most importantly career advancement opportunities.Leslie's recognizes a critical component to our continued success is our people.
