Position: Lapper IShift: Day 6:AM-2:30PMPosition Overview:The overall function of this position is to provide the Assembly, Service and Warehouse Departments with processed parts that have been properly identified, lapped and tagged per ValvTechnologies proceduresJob Responsibilities:Verify paperwork and materialVerify job order quantitiesMixes lapping compoundTesting balls and end caps using the vacuum tableIdentifies non-conforming partsIdentify valve components, using VTI VQP 026, supplied by the Warehouse, against Job Order BOM for accuracyDocumenting the quantity completed parts, by VTI part number and identifying any non-conformance recording all activity via bar code time clockTo perform mate lapping of balls to end caps, following VWI 102, verifying parts to Job Order BOM, to specified dimensions, documenting the completed job orders, via bar code time clock, identifying any non-conformances Capable of all duties assigned to the Lapper I position.Rough lapping of all sizes of balls in all product linesMate lapping of all sizes of balls and end capsLapping of the Trunion product lineReads and interprets shop drawings and specificationsPerforms rough lapping to shop drawing specificationsVerifies final machining dimensionsUses micrometers, calipers, and coating depth gauges to verify dimensionsOperates shop equipment including overhead cranes and forkliftsPerforms minor repairs to lapping machinesMaintains lapping check in – check out logPerforms research and development tasks relevant to implementing new machines and processes.Assist with maintenance of inventory of basic lapping suppliesPerform general housekeeping duties and functions as specified by the supervisorAssure balls are easily and accurately identifiableMay perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisorSkills & Abilities:The ability to use micrometers or appropriate measuring devices such as bridge gauges and feeler gauges.The ability to read and interpret shop drawings.The ability to safely use shop equipment and hand tools including forklifts and overhead cranes.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding.Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy.Works well meeting multiple deadlines with the ability to deliver on time.Core Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required6 months’ experience with process manufacturing
