Landscape Architect
The S/L/A/M Collaborative has an opportunity for a Landscape Architect with a minimum of 5-10+ years of experience to join the firm in our Glastonbury, CT office. SLAM is an award‑winning studio‑based design firm with exciting and challenging campus planning and detailed site design projects throughout the nation.
Responsibilities
Collaborate in a supporting role with LA design lead/project manager on various project teams with several in‑house disciplines
Manage projects and project teams with several in‑house disciplines, in addition to coordinating with various consultants
Develop and express strong planning and design concepts
Attend client meetings in‑house and at client sites
Produce creative and convincing presentations in multiple formats
Translate design concepts into CAD‑based technical drawings and specifications
Key Skills
5‑10+ years of experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Experience in complex site grading, construction documentation, and construction administration
Strong technical skills with site layout, planting, grading/surface drainage, and construction detailing
Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D and LandFX
Multi‑media 2D and 3D design and documentation skills using software such as SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft programs
Highly motivated, good team player with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, collaborate with large multi‑disciplinary teams, and work well under deadlines
Ability to work independently with proficient organizational and time management skills
Licensure in the state of CT preferred
Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Landscape Architecture required
