Technical Program Manager

Title: Technical Program Manager (Hardware design, Consumer electronics, ODM, JDM, CM, vendor engagement) Location: Remote in PST timeDuration: 12-months contractJob Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Program Manager to support our Hardware Design TPMs in driving engineering design deliverables, managing hardware component delivery, and creating development schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product development processes, familiarity with product design fabrication processes, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.ResponsibilitiesSupport Hardware Design TPMs in coordinating and driving engineering design deliverables, including specifications, DOE, and validation plansManage delivery of hardware components for development builds and drive qualification to meet mass production timelinesCreate development, delivery, and qualification schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, lead-times, and business needsManage program structure to optimize clarity and efficiency for program teams and leadershipCommunicate program statuses, identifying potential setbacks, including vendor tooling schedules and design sprintsManage communication within and between internal cross-functional and external partnersEnsure program documents are complete, current, and available for staff and leadership reviewMinimum QualificationsBS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience5+ years of experience working as a technology development program manager in consumer electronicsExperience working with overseas suppliers of hardware componentsExperience in ODM, JDM, and CM vendor engagement modelsKnowledge of phase gate approach to technology development programsExperience with mechanical system development, design for manufacturing, tooling, validation, and characterization processesAdept at communicating, planning, with high level of attention to detailKnowledge of program top issue trackingExperience operating across multiple teams and programsScope of Work and DeliverablesProduct design convergence and design lockDFM and OK2fabMaterial drives to system buildDOE and Build Matrix definition and planningScheduling and planning of HW engineering deliverablesSupport Smart Glasses program planning and build strategyPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in a hardware engineering roleExperience working with a large number of cross-functional partners
