Excavator Operator

Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Excavator Operator with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating excavators and heavy equipment to assist in various construction projects, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of infrastructure development, site preparation, and other excavation-related tasks. Duties* Safely operate operate excavators and other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, trenching, and site preparation tasks for residential construction projects * Perform excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling for foundations, utilities, and site preparation * Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes * Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance * Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and crew members to ensure timely project completion * Follow all OSHA regulations and Harmony Homes safety protocols * Identify underground utilities and ensure safe digging practices * Maintain a clean and organized work environment * Assist with the operation of auxiliary equipment like horizontal drilling machines, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machinery as needed * Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance needs, and work progressQualifications* Minimum 3 years of experience operating excavators in construction environments * Experience in residential or site development work preferred * Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred) * Strong understanding of excavation safety and job site procedures * Ability to read and follow plans and grade specifications * Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team-oriented environment * Mechanical knowledge related to excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and other construction machinery * Valid commercial driver's license with experience in operating dump trucks or similar vehicles is preferred * Familiarity with construction site safety standards and procedures * Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings is a plus * Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environmentJoin us if you're eager to bring your heavy equipment expertise into a vibrant construction setting where safety meets innovation.
