This is not just a payroll processing role — we need someone who understands the system, can clean things up, and keep everything running correctly behind the scenes. What You'll Do PayrollRun payroll end-to-end for ~700 employees across multiple states Heavy non-exempt population Ensure accuracy across earnings, deductions, 401(k), etc. Stay on top of federal, state, and local compliance Paylocity (this is key)Act as the internal Paylocity expert (no learning curve) Handle earnings/deduction code setup and audits Manage system configuration, workflows, and accruals Work with file feeds/integrations (benefits, 401k, time systems) Use batch uploads and automation where it makes sense Audit / Cleanup / ImprovementClean up and maintain: Payroll codes Employee classifications Workers' comp setup Ensure payroll ties correctly to GL and benefits Identify issues before they become problems Continuously improve processes and efficiency Compliance / ReportingHandle multi-state requirements including: Leave laws / paid family leave CA pay data reporting IL Equal Pay reporting BLS reporting What We're Looking For Required7+ years of payroll experience Strong, hands-on Paylocity expertise Experience with multi-state payroll Comfortable in a high non-exempt environment Solid understanding of payroll compliance PreferredExperience with audits, cleanup, or system improvements Healthcare or multi-location environment experience Strong problem-solving mindset What Success Looks Like Payroll runs clean, accurate, and on time Systems, codes, and data are clean and audit-ready Compliance issues are handled proactively You're improving processes, not just maintaining them
